Attractive small vintage art deco burr walnut bureau display cabinet.
A lovely art deco carved walnut display cabinet. We date this cabinet to the 1930's.
The display cabinet has been veneered with well matched, finely figured burr walnut.
The display cabinet sits on two shapely bracket feet.
The front of the cabinet is of four panel design, with the top central panel being a drop flap bureau and the remaining three being side hinged glazed doors. The doors are glazed with single glass panes and are fitted with stand out wood bar handles and working locks (keys supplied).
The side panels are also glazed with single glass panes.
The interior of the drop flap section is fitted with various vertical and horizontal pigeon holes, and the flap is secured by a later replacement sprung catch.
The table top has a small gallery to the rear.
The interior of the display sections are fitted with fixed position glass shelves.
The display cabinet has a height of 51" (130cm), a width of 44.5" (113cm) and a depth of 13.5" (35cm).
This lovely art deco walnut display cabinet has been constructed to a good standard and remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are a fair number of light scratches to the top surface, and a small amount of wear to the drop flap edge.
This remains a very stylish and elegant small art deco walnut display cabinet which will house a small sized collection of object's d'art etc. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
