Crew Leader for Tent hire Company in Wheathmapstead
Description
Due to recent staff re-structuring, we are in a position to offer a Crew Leader post to the right candidate.
This job is a permanent (salaried) position. From £20,000 upwards depending on skills and experience.
We already have experienced Crew Leaders in position, and the successful candidate would be joining the company and this team. We are planning to appoint in late June 2016.
We are looking for a person with on-site management experience of construction. Tent or tipi experience is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.
However, you will be required to demonstrate a proven track-record of team-management in a relevant field (marquees, rigging, landscaping etc...).
Tipis4hire are the largest and longest-established provider of tipi tents in the Home-Counties. We have been operating since 2006 and have an enviable record of over a thousand successful events at venues all over the South-East. We have a reputation for reliability and high-quality builds, delivered by a skilled workforce.
We are looking for a Crew Leader who can confidently provide direction and instruction to a build crew (of between 4 and 8 workers) in the outdoors in all weathers in a physically demanding environment with some long hours.
No experience in tipis or tent-building is necessary, but any relevant skills in similar work (building, landscaping etc..) would be useful. We will provide a full training programme to the right candidate, as attitude is more important than aptitude.
We will provide our usual full training in tipi tent building, including Health and Safety matters and a driving induction.
It is essential:
-That the candidate can demonstrate a track-record of relevant on-site team management.
-That the candidate has a clean, current UK driving License (or equivalent).
-That the candidate is able to take direction and offer instruction in English.
-That the candidate is able to make early (06.30am) starts and is able to work flexibly during the season on some late finishes and on some weekends.
It is desirable:
-That the candidate has the B&E entitlement on their driving License, and has some experience of driving trailers.
-That the candidate has some First-Aid training or qualifications.
-That the candidate has and awareness of or training in current legislation and practice relating to Health & Safety and Working at Heights Regulations.
-That the candidate has experience in driving vans up to 3.5tonnes (Sprinters)
In return we offer a good salary (and Workplace Pension) in a safe working environment .
The seasonal nature of the work means that most annual hours will be worked in the period from June to October, meaning that duties (and hours) will be lower in the winter months (November to March).
This is not a typical nine-to-five job. It will be physically demanding, it will require early starts and long days - including most weekends - working in some stunning UK scenery.
As there are early starts, you will need to have the means to get yourself to our base near Wheathampstead in Hertfordshire. There is parking on site.
To apply, send us your CV with your up-to-date contact details, with two referees. and a brief covering email. If you require more information, please ask; and we will send a full job description.
