We have just completed over 7,000 miles in this motor-home, touring all over the UK and France, with no mechanical problems or failures aside from a window winder handle that broke. Our tour was from the Outer Hebrides, down to Lands End, then to the south of France and French Riviera. We wanted above all a reliable and comfortable home for 4 months. This is the fifth motor-home we have purchased to tour the UK and Europe, and our second Talbot Express. In 2010 we completed over 11,000 miles in our previous Talbot (1986 model “Rambler”), to Venice and back without a single mechanical problem (other than – yes – a broken window winder!).
The Talbots are simple, reliable, and there are many still on the roads and running well. Parts (if needed) are readily available. Ours has extremely low miles and plenty of power. It is not too big to get along the narrowest of lanes like we encountered in Cornwall. It is roomy, very comfortable, easy to drive and the best layout we have seen in any motor-home. It will sleep four adults comfortably, with the main bed being around ‘Queen-size’. We wanted a van that could comfortably seat four or more people for a meal, and this will seat six easily.
Despite it being a 1991 model it is in very clean and tidy condition. The appliances all work very well, particularly the fridge, which cools rapidly on gas or 12volts, and is well insulated. There are a few marks and minor dents to the van, however condition is very good considering age.
I can provide more photos and a complete list of all included items upon request.
Van currently in LONDON not in Cumbria.
Note that van may be advertised on other sites.
