What is Driver Exchange?
The Driver Exchange is a technology platform focusing on the professional driver market (HGV and Van drivers) that aims to disrupt the traditional, low tech way that temporary labour is supplied to the industry. Think "Uber" for the trucking world.
We are currently the only platform of this type with nearly 400 Hirers (e.g. transport operators and hauliers) and over 13,500 professional drivers registered. We believe we are uniquely poised to capture the £3bn temp HGV and Van driver market. We aim to be THE place where professional Drivers find work and Operators find drivers.
What's the job?
The role is in our Engagement Team, which handles both sides of the marketplace - the professional Drivers looking for work and the Hirers looking for someone to make their deliveries. What does this mean?
Well, (1) you'll be the person chatting to our Drivers to make sure that they have the best user experience we can give them. That means problem solving and being a quick thinker.
(2) You'll also be speaking to our clients, identifying what they need and how we can help. This means providing great customer service, handling day to day issues as well is being able to spot new opportunities as they arise. It's very like account management with a little bit of sales thrown in.
(3) Depending on what you enjoy, there may also be the chance to sell to new customers. You could help take a client through from being a name on a page to being an active, paying customer.
What are we looking for?
First and foremost, someone with the right attitude. We're looking for someone positive and enthusiastic, someone who will "get it" and help us all enjoy taking the Driver Exchange to the next level.
As you'll be talking to drivers or customers all day long, we're looking for someone who is comfortable speaking on the phone to people from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, handling clients as they grapple with new technology, and identifying business development and growth opportunities as new clients come on board. Many drivers are Polish so spoken Polish would be a benefit, as would experience in a fast moving recruitment-type environment.
You'll need patience and determination and a sense of humour. We're introducing a totally new way of working to an industry that has yet to take full advantage of technology so being able to educate at the same time as persuade is key.
As with any other startup, a flexible approach and willingness to get stuck in is essential. You may be asked to attend client meetings, help out with back office activities, organise company nights out - anything and everything that will help.

We're offering a starting salary of £26,000 excluding bonus.
