Description
Glenuig Inn is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hard working chef / cook to join its kitchen team. Located in the Sound of Arisaig on the West Coast of Scotland, with stunning views of the hills and ocean, our head chef is keen to make the best of our advantageous location to transform the abundance of local produce into a tour-de-force of Scottish cuisine – he needs your help!
The successful candidate will be able to carry out a wide range of catering tasks independently, as well as working under the supervision of the head chef, to further the food aspect of the business.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assisting with the preparation and timely delivery of high quality meals to guests
Running the kitchen and managing kitchen assistants in the absence of the head chef
Helping to maintain food stock levels
Contributing ideas and dishes to the development of a local, seasonal menu
Assisting in the smoking of food for retail and kitchen use
Aiding in the daily cleaning and record keeping
Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a current food hygiene certificate and have previous kitchen experience, however training can be provided.
