Product Description from Amazon
Launched by the GPO n 1965 as a fashionable alternative to its regular models, it was in the 1970s that the TrimPhone became commonplace. TRIM stands for Tone Ringer Illuminated Model: it was the first phone to ring using a modern electronic warbler rather than a traditional bell mechanism, and on the earlier models, the dial glowed in the dark. This feature was later withdrawn due to (unfounded) public concerns over the radioactive material used to create the effect. This contemporary version has all the style and features of the 1970s original but with the modern push-button dialling.
